Another Look at a Flattened Curve

As we begin the third month of a stay-at-home order in Maryland (and in many other states), many are talking about re-opening the economy and getting people back to work. I'll defer commentary on that argument, but it is clear that, while the number of COVID-19 cases worldwide has continued to grow, the number of NEW cases each day is statistically "flat," meaning that the mitigation measures taken to keep the pandemic controlled (albeit possibly prolonged), have been successful.  See new graphics (updated today) on these two measures below:
